Surface of the Sun

by | Mar 8, 2025 | Poetry | 0 comments

Don’t try to disconnect me from the surface of the sun.
I’m not just here for that, I’m here for this, like everyone.
There is no existential reason, we’re just having fun.
To become the mountain, I first have to be someone.

Listen with your body if you want to know what’s true.
Words can only say so much, and surely nothing new.
Anchored to the effort of a moment passing through,
A second and a decade are equivalent for you.

Collapsing to the center, radiating all around,
Shining down over every surface of the ground.
The heart of loving-kindness, an invigorating sound,
Shared in wise community, a feeling most profound.

And here’s yet another ending, although we’ve just begun,
Was it really worth it, when all is said and done?
That’s the only question that is answered by not one.
Don’t try to disconnect me from the surface of the sun.
