Mirror in the Sky

My heart is empty,
My mind is numb,
I take up space.

My eyes hurt,
My head aches,
I’m wasting time.

No purpose,
No hope,
So alone,
Not a trace of love.

Why do I try when the world is going to hell?
Is it better to stick my head in the sand and pretend I’m fine?

So, so sad.
I wish I had better words.
Everyone does it better.
What is the point?

Why can’t I just be happy?
Am I trying too hard?
Not trying enough?

Touching the pain.
Giving it space.
Letting it ache.
This is how it is.

This is how it is.
I don’t like it,
But I’m with it,
And I’m not going anywhere.

There is nowhere to go.
There is no aim.
There is no point.

I’m a mirror in the sky,
And today, there are only clouds,
And snow, and ice. And pain.

May I have the courage to accept myself just as I am.
To see clearly, to feel reality.

For the sun can’t always shine,
And I don’t have to be alright to be okay.
